Perched on the edge of the magnificent Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is the Escarpment Group collection of distinctive properties encapsulating heritage, indulgence and character at its very best. Each of the four are remarkable to the Blue Mountains Lilianfels Resort and Spa, Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant, The Hydro Majestic Hotel and Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges, steeped in history and surrounded by dramatic landscapes and breathtaking views.
Independently owned and operated, Escarpment Group investments in the Blue Mountains region began in 2004 with Echoes Boutique Hotel and Restaurant, followed by the acquisition of the Hydro Majestic Hotel in 2008. Lilianfels Resort & Spa, renowned 5-star luxury property for the Greater Blue Mountains region, was added in 2009 and Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges completed the collection in 2013.
The Escarpment Group takes seriously its responsibility to the historic landmarks within its collection and embarked on an extensive restoration of the former home of the sixth Chief Justice of NSW into what is now the hatted Darley’s Restaurant within the Lilianfels property.
With meticulous attention to detail, Escarpment Group has also peeled back the layers of one of the world’s genuinely iconic hotels, the Hydro Majestic, to reveal afresh the vision of original owner Mark Foy in the exquisite restoration unveiled in October 2014.
All four properties boast glorious gardens, each with their own personality and reminder of their location within the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.
Lilianfels Resort& Spa is surrounded by 2 acres of manicured gardens right next to Echo Point, while the neighbouring Echoes Boutique Hotel commands a majestic view of the Jamison Valley.
The historic Parklands property treats guests with sweeping lawns, rows of towering trees, meandering pathways, drifts of daffodils, orchards, a Chinese herb garden, private lake and country-style cottage gardens. Guests can travel the short distance to Govetts Leap Lookout to view vast vistas over a breathtaking landscape. The Parklands kitchen garden will also sustain the kitchens of all four properties in the future.
