Our story begins on a spring day in 1928…

While using his family rowboat to transport lumber across beautiful Lake Lugano in Switzerland, Antonio Mantegazza became inspired to share the stories and legends of his home with others. He soon began transporting tourists via rowboat acrosss the lake, sharing stories of local sights along the way.

Following the success of this operation, Mantegazza quickly expanded the business. Rowboats grew to motorboats that progressed to land with a fleet of motorcoaches. Mantegazza soon pioneered the concept of escorted ‘first class’ touring around Europe.

Over the years, Globus continued to introduce successful touring packages to new markets in Australia, New Zealand and Canada and in 1981 Globus launched its first class packages of the United States and Canada.

The combination of popular and innovative destinations, flawless service and integrity, have earned Globus a long, enviable record in the travel industry. Customer loyalty is such that seven out of ten Globus customers have travelled with Globus before or have been recommended by past travellers – a notable achievement in a highly competitive industry.
