Founded in 2004, we are an Australian owned company offering fully flexible, guaranteed itineraries to Latin America, plus cruises to Antarctica, catering to clients of all ages. We call ourselves the ‘Latin America and Antarctica Specialists’ and there is a good reason for that: we don’t stretch ourselves across the globe like other travel companies, but instead keep our focus on these two continents making our knowledge unbeatable. We invest heavily in finding and recruiting staff with first hand knowledge of these destinations and ensure their knowledge is contemporary and relevant with regular field trips and training.

In Latin America, the best destinations and travel routes have been hand-picked by our own staff who have lived or travelled extensively within this continent. We also have our own operations in Peru, Argentina and Brazil, directly employing local guides and local support staff. This way we ensure that our Chimu Adventures quality standard is always carried out; this also allows us to cut out numerous middle men and keep our prices low. We are constantly trailing new properties, routes, experiences and new ways to visit locations to make every journey memorable.

In Antarctica, we work closely with dozens of vessels, Australia’s largest range, offering journeys and experiences to the white continent. Most of our staff have travelled to Antarctica, some many times, and are well versed in consulting on the cruise and activity to suit you best. At Chimu Adventures we work hard to conduct all of our operations responsibly and are therefore proud to be an Associate Member of IAATO, the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators. We also support the Mawson’s Huts Foundation to help conserve the historic huts at Cape Denison.

Chimu Adventures also run charter voyages to Antarctica every year offering our clients an opportunity to join a unique group of travellers, special guests and Chimu staff to the white continent. These charters are often themed and run to benefit chosen charities and foundations.

We like to keep it simple. You tell one of our destination experts your ideas about where you want to go and how you like to travel and we’ll simply piece it together using our first hand destination knowledge, offering you advice and working with you every step of the way.
